**About the role**

Based at the Garden Island Defence base (with some flexible, hybrid options) you will form part of the broader HSEQ team and be responsible for delivering the Annual Audit programme and carrying out a range of Quality Assurance and Control activities across a number of sites. This will include preparing reports and making recommendations against a range of multi-disciplined (some integrated) activities and sub-contractors.

Babcock are a leading provider of complete maritime sustainment solutions and this role will work within our Landing Helicopter Dock program along with associated assets, for the Royal Australian Navy.

**About you**

You will bring a high level of knowledge to provide advice to the project team on QA matters. Preferably you will have knowledge of Naval ships and their rules and regulations. Your auditing skills will be complimented with formal certification as a lead or internal auditor.

You will be a team player with the ability to own and deliver your tasks and goals to achieve success and manage daily operation schedules with conflicting priorities.

**_To be successful you will have_**_:_
- Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a current Defence security clearance (essential) with a current Baseline preferred
- Formal qualification in quality and/or significant experience in a similar QA position
- Knowledge of Classification society rules and regulations for Naval ships (highly desirable)
- Experience in auditing quality management systems (ISO 9001:2015)
- Lead Auditor/Internal Auditor Certificate for QMS ISO 9001:2015
- Sound knowledge of business management system standards such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and / or BS EN 9100
