**About the Opportunity**:
As an Environmental Specialist at CleanCo, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all development projects meet environmental standards and contribute to our broader sustainability goals. Reporting to the Development Director, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team of environmental consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders. You’ll guide projects through compliance, due diligence, and the implementation of eco-friendly practices, ensuring CleanCo’s projects leave a positive environmental footprint. You will:

- Lead environmental due diligence for land access and site selection, ensuring projects meet regulatory and sustainability criteria.
- Develop and implement environmental strategies and plans, integrating sustainable practices into new projects.
- Collaborate with government agencies, community groups, and internal teams to address environmental concerns and secure necessary permits.
- Establish and oversee environmental monitoring programs to ensure compliance during project development.
- Conduct awareness sessions to educate teams and contractors on environmental regulations and best practices.

**About you**:

- A tertiary degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification as an Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) is highly desirable.
- 5+ years of experience managing environmental compliance and initiatives, particularly within the power generation, construction, or high-risk industries.
- Proven experience overseeing contractors and consultants, with a focus on environmental compliance and safety.
- Excellent understanding of environmental legislation and regulations, particularly in relation to project development and HSE risk frameworks.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- You have a passion to be part of something bigger than yourself, that contributes to the delivery of a clean energy future crafted in Queensland.
