Who we’re looking for
Reporting to the Director, Commercial Risk and Assurance, the newly created position of Specialist, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is positioned in the Commercial function to lead the integration and implementation of various best practice; systems, tools, processes and metrics/key performance indicators (KPIs) into a coherent, overall ESG program.
**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Management and implementation of a sustainable ESG framework that mitigates negative supply chain impacts through robust controls and governance mechanisms, in alignment to Newmont’s Risk Management System (RMS), across Commercial including supply chain, sales and marketing, and inbound and outbound logistics.
- Enabling effective cross-functional collaboration with Risk Management System, Environment, Sustainability, Social Performance teams to deliver Newmont’s strategic objectives and ensure compliance with relevant environmental, social, and governance regulations, Newmont’s standards, and reporting requirements.
- Driving process improvement initiatives to enhance ESG performance, develop and promote tools and guidance material to align with best-practice frameworks.
- Effectively communicate complex environmental and social issues to a wide range of stakeholders through analysis, reporting, and presentations.

**The ideal applicant will have**:

- Undergraduate Degree in Environmental Science and/or Business Administration
- Demonstrated experience of ESG framework development and implementation
- Ability to provide input into public facing reporting (i.e. Climate Report, Sustainability Report and Modern Slavery Statement)
- Proficient in report writing, data analysis and evaluation
- Capability to deliver awareness building and excel in cross-functional collaboration
- Skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
