Role and Responsibilities

Role Overview:
Based in Sydney (Homebush), the IPAC HR Leader is a member of the Senior Management team of CAE Defense & Security for the IPAC region. The HR Leader provides strategic HR support to Senior Business and People Leaders across the region and will execute key HR initiatives and continue developing a high-performance sustainable organization. The HR Leader will lead the HR function and have full accountability for all HR activities including: Development and delivery of HR strategy and policies across multi sites and organizations, Talent Management, HR Operations, HR Services and People Performance.

This position reports to the Director HR, Defense & Security International and dotted line to the Managing Director, Defense & Security, IPAC.

**Responsibilities**:
- Provide HR leadership and strategic partnership to the Defense & Security Business Unit for the IPAC region including 21 locations in 6 countries.- Develop and implement an overall HR strategy to leverage people contribution towards achievements of business objectives and results.Lead, coach and develop a high performing human resources team across the region.Deliver expert consulting support to diagnose and resolve complex problems, while positively driving change.- Drive ongoing cultural alignment and organizational behaviors to the CAE Values.- Champion people development as a critical business imperative and anticipate talent needs and use staffing and workforce plans to develop sourcing strategies.Ensure succession plans for key positions and develop a pipeline of top talentProvide support to the Leadership team to establish development / training requirements for the region and coordinate its execution.Build a framework to standardize the local HR services and policies in line with CAE Global HR and multiple country legislations, while considering adaptations specific to the Defense & Security environment.Collaborate with the Corporate HR Centers of excellence to ensure successful deployment of corporate initiatives.

Role Requirements- A university Degree in HR or related domain with professional HR designation and 7+ years HR experience- Experience working in a highly matrixed environment with a minimum of 3 years leading a team of HR professionals- Solid background in compensation, organizational development / training management staffing / Employee Relations- Strong leadership style to lead change management initiatives- Passion for results; constantly thinking of ways to positively impact the business in an ethical and integrity-based manner- Ability to create trust and be seen as a key leader in the organizationStrategic & Tactical Mindset with excellent influencing & communications skillsHigh energy level and hands-on approach; with a “roll up the sleeves” and positive “can do” attitudeAnalytical and financial knowledge to make fact-based decisionsHuman Resources skills and knowledge related to regional legislation- Alliance building and recognized as an effective facilitatorExperience or knowledge of contemporary, employee-centric EVP practicesAbility to work across different cultures, different time zones and working remotely with peers and groups- Ability to attain and retain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance to a Negative Vet 1 Level- Willingness to travel
