- Melbourne Pathology is one of Victoria’s largest diagnostic pathology laboratories, committed to providing high quality healthcare throughout metropolitan Melbourne, regional Victoria and interstate.
- An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Laboratory Assistant to join our busy Chemical Pathology Department located in Collingwood.
- This is a full-time position (38 hours per week). Participation in the after-hours, weekend and public holiday roster will also be required. Shifts are varied as the laboratory operates 24 hours/7 days per week.
- In this role you will:
- Perform routine maintenance, trouble-shooting, and operate, pre and post analytical instrument
- Prepare samples for analysis, prioritising urgent patient samples
- Perform general laboratory housekeeping duties including stock management.

The successful applicant will have:
- Experience in a diagnostic laboratory but not essential
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a busy team or independently, as required
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills
- Understanding of and commitment to OH&S.- Confirmation of your current residency and right to work in Australia
- The notice period you would require to commence employment
- Evidence of full vaccination (2 doses plus booster) to COVID-19.
