The Pricing, Analysis & Systems Team at EnergyAustralia is responsible for managing, enhancing and extending EnergyAustralia’s electricity and gas wholesale market analyses and modelling capabilities to ensure that planning, trading, strategy, and policy decisions are informed by an in depth understanding of and insight into market drivers and directions.

Reporting to the Wholesale Pricing Leader, we have an opportunity for a Wholesale Energy Pricing professional to join the team based in our Docklands head office, whilst being able to take advantage of flexible work-from-home options under our agreed Energise Plan.

In this role you will be responsible for managing and maintaining pricing models to produce optimal and timely wholesale and retail pricing outputs for all EnergyAustralia’s existing and prospective customers for electricity, gas and carbon products and providing input into the strategy and methodologies used for pricing.

Responsibilities will include
- Running the pricing models to produce timely and accurate electricity, gas and green transfer prices
- Helping to develop new pricing methodologies and processes to reflect changing energy market conditions and trends and customer preferences
- Liaising with Trading and sales teams to ensure model inputs are updated and are producing accurate pricing outputs
- Managing and maintaining pricing models for electricity, gas and green pricing
- Ensuring pricing models and processes support quick turnaround of prices
- Troubleshooting and remedying any pricing process or model issues

As a Wholesale Energy Pricing specialist, you will have demonstrated experience in wholesale energy pricing and a good understanding of the emerging energy industry, market, regulatory and customer trends.
- Knowledge of the wholesale electricity, gas and green markets
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant numerate discipline (eg Maths, Statistics, Econometrics, Actuarial Studies or Engineering)
- Programming experience in Python - preferrable
- Advanced skills in use of analytical tools such as SQL, Visual Basic (VBA), Tableau, Excel
- Hands on modelling experience using large data sets
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
