**Database Specialist / Engineer - **Limelight People are supporting our clients APAC growth plans and are searching for a Database Specialist / Engineer to join their growing business.**

**Database Specialist / Engineer - **We are looking for a Database Specialist / Engineer who is looking for a new challenge in a highly challenging financial technology environment.

This team supports multiple equities, options and futures markets a part of a global engineering function. They spend significant time optimising data for increased data volumes while living and breathing reliability and automation.

**You will have the following responsibilities**:

- Processing, collecting and analyzing financial market data, including high frequency real-time pricing and reference data
- Work with reference data teams to add or modify reference data sources
- Collaborate with existing Database engineering team members and work with them in upgrading PostgreSQL
- Automate/upgrade schema maintenance activity that is currently running on a schedule along with deployment of code.

**We are looking for the following experience;**
- 5+ years working on relational databases as either a DBA or Engineer capacity
- PostgreSQL exposure
- Linux or Unix Systems
- Experience in Python Scripting
- Scripting experience eg: SQL, Bash, PERL
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
- DESIRABLE: Experience with Hadoop and Snowflake
- DESIRABLE: Experience working within a global engineering team
