**About the Role**:
In your role as Deputy Principal - Junior Secondary, you will significantly contribute to a high expectations school culture through strong Instructional Leadership to focus on continuous improvement in student performance through the lens of data and transitioning to high school.
The Deputy Principal - Junior Secondary will be instrumental in engaging and influencing Heads of Departments and all teachers to improve student achievement through the analysis of data and instructional leadership to enhance classroom practice. They will be focused on assisting curriculum leaders and classroom teachers to use data to ensure a trajectory of continuous improvement and school growth.
The Deputy Principal - Junior Secondary is accountable to and operates under the direction of the Principal.
You will have responsibility for leading the following key tasks through Instructional Leadership practices:

- Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Deputise for the Principal when required.
- Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
- Be futures oriented and strategic.
- Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
