**The Role**
As the APS 5 Commercial Officer within ACSPO, you will be responsible for providing informed advice and support to the Australian F-35 Program stakeholders on all matters of commercial activities. This is to ensure compliance with Australian and US regulations, the global Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Cooperative Program and Defence Procurement Guidelines. You will work closely with Australian F-35 Program members, both within Joint Strike Fighter Branch (JSFB) and ACSPO to manage relevant commercial activities.
The APS 5 Commercial Officer will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work. They will interpret and provide advice within the commercial function based on legislation, policy and procedures and will undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct reviews and perform procedural and clerical support to achieve results.
The APS 5 Commercial Officer will be responsible to:
- Assist with and undertake procurement planning, tendering and contract formation and contract management activities, ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes and procedures.
- Coordinate the provision of advice, assistance and services for procurement policy, technical, commercial, legal, financial investigation and other requirements as applicable in order to support commercial outcomes.\
- Build and sustain productive relationships with supervisors, staff and team members and actively participate in team work and group activities.
- Assess and recommend mitigation strategies for the risks associated with commercial management activities, suppliers performance and compliance with mandatory requirements and suggest relevant improvement.
- Seek, interpret, recommend and provide advice and assistance on complex procurement and contract management issues.
- Monitor and manage commercial administration, performance and risks against relevant contracts and contribute to implementing appropriate action.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. **About our Team**
ACSPO organisationally sits in the Aerospace Combat Systems Branch in Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), within the Department of Defence. ACSPO is the aviation asset management in-service support agency for the Australian F-35A Lightning II Air System.
ACSPO engages with local, regional and international enterprise partners and suppliers of the F-35 Global program; consisting of both foreign governments and industry, to provide sustainment support for the Capability Manager, the Royal Australian Air Force.
ACSPO is based at RAAF Williamtown in NSW and supports the Australian F-35A Fleet. The F-35A aircraft are based at RAAF Williamtown and RAAF Tindal in the Northern Territory. The primary focus for ACSPO is governing across the Australian F-35A Air Combat Capability. This includes the ongoing management, execution and continuous improvement of the various governance frameworks, processes and procedures in order to provide leading aviation asset management.
