Manage boards, assist elected members, provide governance and admin support
**Your new company**
Our client, a local council based in the western suburbs, have a current vacancy for a Governance Office to join the team for an initial period of 10 months. Working directly with the Senior Governance Officer, you will provide a raft of support to the broader team covering all things governance.

**Your new role**
You will provide governance and administrative support which will involve all aspects of managing boards including secretariat functions, writing detailed reports, preparing nominations for boards, assisting elected members and updating registers.

**What you'll need to succeed**
In order to be considered for this role, you will demonstrate the following key criteria:

- Experience in a similar role, ideally within a local government environment
- Strong interpersonal skills that enable effective liaison with staff, Members, Board Members and other stakeholders
- Excellent written communication skills to prepare reports

You will also exude the follow qualities and attributes:

- A confident attitude and the ability to learn quickly
- Ability to work autonomously and flexibility
- Attention to detail and the ability to perform tasks with a high level of accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to priorities amongst competing deadlines
- A strong commitment to customer service, and
- A can-do attitude to support other team members
