**The Opportunity**

The Kids have an overarching commitment to address the inequity of the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal children and families. Our Healthy Skin team play an important role in achieving this vision with a wide range of projects that discover, treat and prevent infectious diseases, with a focus on the health of kids and families in Aboriginal communities.

The team has a position available for a casual Research Assistant to join several projects in the Perth Children’s Hospital and other locations in Boorloo (Perth). In this role, you will provide support to Aboriginal health projects and other skin health projects by contributing to the research and administrative outputs of the team.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

- Supporting quantitative and qualitative analysis of trial outcomes.
- Assisting with development communications for sharing outcomes.
- Providing administrative support in health research, including data input, transcribing, preparing research documentation, and helping to draft reports.
- Assisting with the preparation of brochures, social media content and other forms of health promotion.
- Other activities as needed by the team.

This position will be offered on a casual basis, working approximately 4 - 7.5 hours per week and will be based at our office in Nedlands.

We are seeking the following skills and experiences:

- Tertiary qualifications in health studies or community studies, or working towards these.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Proven time management abilities.
- Ability to take direction and work independently.
- Strong interest in Aboriginal Health and Child Health Research.
- Good organisational skills, flexibility and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Knowledge of or an interest in learning about skin health.
- Willingness to undertake travel in the metropolitan area.
