**About us**:
Endeavour Group has a strategy to transform our business utilising data to optimise critical parts of our decision-making. We desire to be a customer and data-led organisation and have recently set up a new advanced analytics function to develop the strategy for and execute a roadmap for this exciting area. As a function we have a vision to ‘Create an Endeavour where data-driven insights help us build a more sociable future.’
Our key principles as a function are to:
**Focus On What Matters** - Transparent and value-driven prioritisation - answering questions that matter
**Be Scalable & Sustainable** - Focus on outcomes, whilst embedding foundations into delivery to drive usability and growth of data & analytics products
**Be Trusted Partners** - Partner with the business to collectively deliver on insights in the most effective way.
**Drive a Data Culture** - Empower all to jointly manage and responsibly use data in daily ways of working, with effective custodianship, accountability,& consideration of privacy
The Analytics & Data Science Practice Lead is a key leadership position within the Advanced Analytics team. They are responsible for building our people, process and tooling capability in the practice. They maintain a high level of alignment across all chapters and squads within the business, and are focused on supporting strategically important outcomes for the business, whilst embedding the continuous improvement of capability, efficiency and quality of delivery.
The Practice Lead is an analytics expert and is a strategic leader for their Chapters. Their primary role is to work with the Tribe leads to set a strategic analytics agenda within the tribes, develop and embed a consistent set of analytics practices and principles within the practice (including implementation, measurement and experimentation), and foster an environment of capability development.
**About the Opportunity**
This role is a critical leadership role within advanced analytics. It sits alongside product delivery, data, and data governance roles as part of the SLT. The role will collaborate with diverse teams and leaders across the business including Advanced Analytics & EndeavourX, our merchandising teams, operations teams and support functions.
You will also play a key role in supporting the development and rollout of the advanced analytics strategy and driving a cultural change towards agile ways of working and becoming a data-led business.
The analytics and data science practices consist of approx 120 analytics resources and is the largest number of resources within the advanced analytics function. As such this is a great opportunity to shape the culture and direction of advanced analytics in Endeavour.
**A day in the life of a Practice Lead - Analytics and Data Science**
- In collaboration with Tribe leads, define and own the strategic practice direction and practice roadmap holistically. Create an innovative analytics culture that attracts and retains a highly skilled team.
- Own and maintain a career roadmap and associated development principles for the chapters to ensure continuous capability improvement. Work closely with external partners in developing, reviewing and implementing new approaches and/or skills to improve our delivery
- Own the resourcing strategy across analytics chapters to ensure squads are right sized, efficient and have the required capabilities to deliver their business roadmap. This includes identification of external partners to augment the team, including potential outsourcing/offshoring partners.
- Collaborate with Tribe Leads, Product Managers and other practices to understand current and future analytics needs and establish this through development, training, rotations and coaching
- Partner with the Tribe Leads and Product Owners to understand customer and business problems and how these translate into our quarterly plans in order to align the marketing analytics roadmap.
- Proactively manage overall practice costs and identify optimisation opportunities. Be actively involved in the annual Budget planning process with respect to opportunities or utilisation of the respective practice.
- Understand, research and follow analytics trends in the industry and in general to ensure the practice’s readiness for the latest emerging required capabilities & skills. Manage the relationship with external partners - including the onboarding of new partners relevant to the practice
- Be actively involved in the trimesterly planning process and provide analytics advisory to ensure quality plans exist for the objectives, delivery milestones and releases; and align with the practice roadmap.
- Partner with Chapter Leads and Product Managers to ensure that the practice can meet the prioritised domain roadmap in order to maximise the value delivered by the squad. Ensure chapter & practice alignment to product and project missions and help remove capability related impediments
