The Health and Security Assistant (HSA) works as part of a team, in collaboration with other staff, to assist with the provision of high-quality security services and health assistant services. **About the job**:

- The role of the Health & Security Assistant includes patient care to wards as requested, transport of patients to wards and imaging as required by wheelchair or bed.
- The successful applicant will be expected to participate in de-escalation and aggressive situations for safety of patients and staff.
- Ensure the health service is secure including responding to alarms and attend any situations to enable a safe and secure hospital environment.
- Check and replace ward and bed oxygen cylinders to ensure adequate and safe equipment is available.
- Perform cleaning duties as rostered in accordance with commercial cleaning practices, policy and procedure.

All training and education required to support the needs of this position will be made available to the successful applicant.

**About you**:

- The successful applicant will hold a valid NSW Class 1A Security licence & a current relevant first aid certificate.
- Demonstrated ability to handle difficult situations, aggressive patients coupled with your ability to stay calm and de-escalate situations.
- You are a team player, have a strong ability to communicate with a diverse range of people and are adaptable to changes at short notice without hesitation.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and agents and a willingness to perform cleaning tasks.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
