Reporting to the CIO and based in
**Melbourne**, the
**General Manager Technology - B2C & Strategy** is accountable for aligning business and technology, defining the 'why and how' that drives solution success, selecting the right product features that maximise business value, and advocating for multi-cloud implementation best practices that create frictionless customer experiences.

You will be a Tech-focused builder that is energised by staying abreast of tech developments and trends. Your rightbrain skills like creativity and design thinking drive your passion for Innovation. You are inquisitive and enquiring and often start with a simple question of “How can I use this technology to differentiate”?

Your previous roles as technical leader within Agile, DevOps and ‘as-a-service’ platforms will support you to work with a number of technologies and architectural approaches to plan, build and then operate platforms and services that will drive mass market retail for Shell Energy. Your hands-on coaching style will enable your team to create, support and enhance secure, reliable, performant and cost optimised products that it owns. The cradle to grave solution approach embraces our DevOps model and is delivered in alignment with our values and culture.

Working in close collaboration with Shell Strategy Teams, Business Operations, Customer Services, Technology Leads, software/platform partners and the Architecture and Engagement team, you will create an industry leading, world class platform that provides the capability for Shell Energy to implement its strategic plans as well as flex to meet future business needs.

This role will be able to introduce ways of working through the adoption of best practices in ‘As-a
- Service’, Software Engineering, Test Automation, CI/CD, Site Reliability Engineering and new Application Architectures. You will exemplify self-organising behaviours, a continuous improvement mindset and an inclusive oneteam culture.

**What you’ll bring**

Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:

- Experience in a General Manager Technology or equivalent role;
- Experience working within the Salesforce Platform (Service, Sales and Marketing Clouds);
- Experience within a Customer Contact Centre environment;
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of Cloud architecture patterns and working Cloud native (AWS preferred);
- Ability to understand and implement compliance and industry risk models to protect customer information (ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, NIST or equivalent);
- Experience in DevOps model encompassing a ‘Builder’ culture;
- The ability to balance the long term (“big picture”) and short-term implications of individual decisions;
- Full Lifecycle IT Systems agile delivery experience in complex environments;
- Innovative and questioning mindset to explore ideas and prototype solutions;
- Experience in leading/Managing external providers/vendors to realise business outcomes/goals;
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence broad communities of technical experts;
- Ability to work with complexity and ambiguity and resilience on striving for goals;
- Excellent interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building;
- Experience implementing and maintaining IT Financial Reporting processes within a DevOps environment;
- Understanding and experience of holistic IT planning, forecasting and reporting on execution;
- Sufficient level of technical background to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate and explain complex delivery options, risks and issues; and
- Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining a strategic view.
