Category Manager

Due to an internal move, a brilliant opportunity for a commercial, trend driven Category Manager has arisen in our team This role will look after our high performing Kitchen Appliances category, driving growth, profitability and innovation.

Reporting to the Head of Appliances, this role will take ownership of a significant category and continue to expand the offering, ensuring a high quality product and experience for our customers.

**In this role you'll be responsible for**:

- Identifying commercial opportunities for expansion of the Kitchen Appliances category including sourcing and developing new products
- Actively managing daily category operations including; planning and promotional activity, inventory management, shipping and logistics to ensure revenue and profit targets are exceeded every month
- Managing and engaging with key stakeholders, internally and externally, to build effective working relationships and achieve outcomes
- Maximising profitability of all products, through a depth of understanding of your category and the market
- Being proactive, innovative and striving to continually develop your category for our customers
- Actively negotiating the best possible trading terms and prices
- Drive and control price changes across our different sales channels, and contribute towards pricing reviews when required
- Ensuring timely import of products and stock management, ensuring fulfilment of customer demand
- Monitoring performance and completing range reviews across your category and taking action where necessary
- Overseeing the Assistant Category Manager supporting the category, and play a key role in coaching and mentoring

**To be successful in this role, you should be**:

- University Degree qualified in a relevant field (Commerce, Business or similar)
- Experienced as a Category Manager, preferably within an Appliance, Kitchen, Home or similar category within an eCommerce, Retail or FMCG environment
- Private Label experience will be highly regarded, but is not essential
- Comfortable building and maintaining effective relationships, through exceptional communication and engagement
- Highly analytical and possess commercial nous, being able to recognise opportunity and make quick decisions for the best commercial outcomes, so that we can offer market-leading pricing to our customers
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Being agile and adaptable is key to success
- A whiz with Microsoft Excel (we’re talking VLOOKUP and pivot tables, not SUM and AVERAGE - and we will test your capabilities).Tech savvy and able to use various IT and cloud-based tools to improve efficiency and productivity
