Sunshine Beach State High School programs are developed to meet diverse student needs and to enrich learning experiences. These programs (curriculum and extra-curricular) develop students' academic, civic, creative, social, personal and athletic skills.
The successful applicant will be working as part of a team to supporting students and staff to ensure that a cohesive, productive and engaging learning environment is maintained for all students to achieve their potential.As the Teacher you will: - Plan, prepare and deliver effective learning and teaching programs for every student in allocated classes and groups. Contribute to the development and implementation of the school objectives and school planning. Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive school environment. Liaise with families and community agencies to support students at risk of disengagement and develop strategies and plans to improve engagement
- Case manage students identified with behaviour issues
- Develop Individual Behaviour Support Plans through the process of Functional Behaviour Assessment
- Provide leadership, coaching, modelling and feedback to staff in Essential Skills for Classroom Management and Classroom Profiling
- Identify training needs of whole-school staff and assist in presentation of whole-school professional development relating to school-wide behaviour expectations
- Monitor students' individual performance and behaviour and develop and implement intervention strategies and support measures
- Engage with appropriate government and private community agencies to support students
- Facilitate and source pro-active programs in the support and development of appropriate, positive behaviour with a focus on increased engagement (examples: RAGE, Managing The Bull, Rock & Water)
- Facilitate the peer mentoring program
- Facilitate restorative mediations in response to behaviour incidents between students/student and staff/staff in line with SBSHS Behaviour Management Plan
Teachers are accountable to and under the direction of the school Principal or delegate. The principal provides educational leadership for the school and sets the general direction and ethos for all staff, students and community members.
The department is responsible for delivering quality education services to all QLD students in state schools and recognises teachers and their commitment to teaching through a range of rewards and benefits.

- Relevant teaching qualification
- Current full or provisional registration as a teacher in Queensland. For info CLICK HERE
- Teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services
