About the School
Nambour State College was founded in 2016, resulting from the amalgamation of Nambour State High School and Nambour State School. Two of the oldest schools on the Sunshine Coast had co-existed for decades and decided to join forces to help provide the best possible education for our students. Students enjoy extensive facilities and resources in this large campus in the heart of Nambour. We value the history and traditions of education in Nambour whilst always striving to improve informed by the latest contemporary educational research. Our vision states that we support and nurture our students as they choose, and excel in, their individual educational pathway. About the Role
**As the Deputy Principal you will**:
- Assist the Principal and work collaboratively with the Executive Team P-12 to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing educational excellence for all learners.
- Lead within the context of senior schooling to support successful learning outcomes, supporting pathways and future aspirations of our students.
- Display high quality leadership that directly influences the engagement, improvement, achievement and wellbeing of staff, students and our community
- Uphold the Deputy Principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Leading Teaching and Learning specific to the Secondary Campus aligned to the College's strategic agenda.
- Form positive relationships with students, staff and parents, for the betterment of all in our organisation.
- Be futures oriented and strategic.
- Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
- Manage both physical and human resources to achieve goals.
- Deliver operational requirements within the school across both Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary.
- Assume the leadership of a secondary school student cohort developing relationships between staff, students and parents in order to support the engagement of all students and to promote positive learning outcomes.
- Empowering every student to experience academic success through inclusive practices that enable access, participation purposeful engagement and yearly growth in learning.
- Develop the capability of teachers and leaders within the school community that has a focus on being collaborative and strategic.
