The Opportunity
We are looking for an energetic, proactive, and enthusiastic HSE professional to join the national HSE team. The role will report to the National HSE Manager and will play an integral role supporting our operational team members and further developing our “Think Safe” culture.
The position will be responsible for providing advice on key HSE requirements such as coaching/mentoring, hazard management, incident investigations, injury management, HSE auditing and procedure review, legislative compliance, HSE presentations/training, consultation, and issue resolution processes, HSE reporting and health and wellbeing programs.
**Your key responsibilities will be to**:
- Provide advice, guidance and coaching to the operations team, in accordance with HSE compliance obligations and company requirements.
- Effectively communicate with City team members to deliver information which supports the implementation of the HSE strategies, associated projects, programs, and initiatives.
- Participate in HSE policy procedure and process audits and reviews, by assessing and verifying compliance with company standards and identifying improvements.
- Maintain effective HSE risk management processes including reviewing and updating - Safe Work Method Statements, risk assessments, risk assessments, chemical registers etc.
- Demonstrate communication with key stakeholders’ information such as performance reports, safety alerts, Toolbox Talks etc.
- As required undertake incident investigations, utilising appropriate root cause analysis techniques.
- Assist with the resolution of HSE issues, promoting consultation and participation with key stakeholders.
- Drive a proactive safety culture through effective engagement, simultaneously building strong relationships with key stakeholders and the HSE Team.
**To be considered for this role you will have**:
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety - preferable
- Short course or post graduate studies relevant to Occupational Health and Safety - highly desirable.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience.
- Prior experience developing and delivering HSE training programs.
- Proven experience undertaking incident investigations.
- Ability to undertake internal HSE audits, site inspections, coaching sessions and spot checks.
- Prior experience providing up-to-date advice, information and interpretation of Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards associated with business activities.
Base in Mulgrave, this is a hybrid WFH role, which will also require intermittent travel to our partner sites throughout Victoria and Tasmania
