NextGen Jobs is hiring a Business Administration Trainee to support the Department of Justice and Community Safety. Do you have an interest in working for the government while earning a Certificate III in Business Administration?

This 12 month traineeship based in Melbourne CBD provides support to the Safety and Security Team to ensure the department can operate in an effective and efficient manner.

**Youth Employment Scheme (YES)**

The Youth Employment Scheme (YES) is a Victorian State Government funded initiative designed to increase the workforce participation of young people, particularly those facing significant barriers to employment. Through this program, 12-month traineeships are made available to young people aged between 15 and 29. These placements provide trainees with meaningful work experience and formal training to give a solid foundation for a sustainable career.

**Position Overview**

The Recruitment Services branch within People Services provides expert advice and support to the department on all recruitment related matters, including attraction, selection, redeployment and other recruitment and retention practices. The Security and Safety Team coordinate the processing of criminal history and other relevant pre-employment checks of prospective employees for the department.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Coordinate the processing of criminal history and other relevant pre-employment checks of prospective employees for high risk roles, including:

- Provide high quality customer service and administrative support to internal and external stakeholders on a range of recruitment related matters.
- Respond efficiently to enquiries received via the phone, electronically, in writing in a professional, courteous manner.
- Update systems and establish and maintain accurate records using relevant systems and tools.
- General word processing and data entry
- Other duties as required
