The opportunity
We are currently looking for an experienced Events Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis, located in Sydney. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your strong events and project management experience to lead and manage the development, implementation and delivery of events campaigns across QBE. You will be tasked with managing multiple events end to end delivering to the internal and external audiences, an array of corporate, hospitality, virtual, national, diversity and sponsorship events. The key responsibilities and attributes for this role include the following, but not limited to:
- Lead the successful delivery of events plan by ensuring they are delivered to deadline, project/leverage plans with the following in place event orders, project plans and briefing documents
- Work closely with the Events Manager and broader departments to align and integrate business strategy, marketing and communications are integrated with event plans
- Prepare and ensure the successful roll out of the events calendar
- Prepare conference activation strategies
- Evaluating and measuring the success of events implementation and roll out providing detailed, high quality reports to stakeholders
- Managing a variety of key stakeholders to deliver the desired outcome
- Maintenance and reporting of financial budgets, ticketing, events data as required by compliance and in-direct tax
- The opportunity includes travel around Australia, and requires flexible working hours
Your story so far
You are team player who will become part of a larger team bringing in new ideas, collaborating with a focus on team first ethos. You will have proven experience in planning, budgeting, execution, and evaluation of medium, large, virtual and in-person events. A strong background in stakeholder management and are able to keep up with a fast-paced environment, juggling priorities and multitasking comes natural to you.
- At least 5 years + in an events related role
- Proven skills and experience in complex, multi-stakeholder project management
- Strong experience in event implementation with the ability to work on multiple events at once
- Digitally savvy with proven experience delivering hybrid and digital events
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Self motivated, able to work autonomously and part of a team to achieve set goals
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment with tight time frames
- Risk mindset and proactively identify and understand the current and future risks processes
