My client is one of the most respected owner operators in Australia. Thier HQ being in Canada they have two operations operating in WA.

**The responsibilities of this role include**:

- Managing, leading and mentoring of the geologist team on site
- Open Pit Geology reconciliation reports and conducts, ore extraction/mining achieved at the best outcome
- Development, planning, implement and management of Geologist mining strategies and programs
- Developing, planning and management of grade control programmes, drilling programs and coordination of geological mapping of active pits to assist with ore body delineation and understanding for underground mining
- Manage geophysical surveys, geological field mapping and surface geochemical sampling
- Update and validate geological data in the database
- Production of reports including but not limited to geological, project review, completion and overall reports
- Contribute to company and statutory compliance obligations

**About you**:

- B.Sc Degree majoring in Geology or related field
- Minimum 8-15 years’ experience in the mining industry
- Bulk of experience in Archean gold, Underground Mine and Open Pit
- Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills
- Familiar with interpreting multielement Geochem and geophysical data
- Demonstrated ability to produce quality drill targets
- Understanding of QA/QC procedures, drilling and sampling practices, standard gold industry laboratory analytical methods
- Experience in developing reports and records, forecast planning
- Highly competent with the use of mining software - such as Datamine and Surpac
- Excellent communication skills with a can-do attitude
