Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Geologist to join our team in a key role that will play a crucial part in the success of our gold mine.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in underground geology and a strong understanding of geological properties, including mapping, structural geology, drilling and sampling techniques. They will also possess excellent leadership skills, with the ability to train and mentor junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective geological procedures and protocols
  • Design and track underground drilling activities and programs to meet and comply with geological targets
  • Ensure the availability of adequate underground drill platforms according to schedule
  • Assist with underground mapping activities and ensure the provision of high-quality logging, sampling and QAQC practices
  • Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to plan, execute and improve business processes
  • Supervise and train junior geologists for underground activities
  • Track daily and monthly production and report on reconciliation performance
  • Identify and implement ESG improvements within the geology team and at the mine site
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Geology or related field
  • At least 5+ years of experience in mining, including minimum 2+ years in an underground production role
  • Strong knowledge of geological principles, including mapping, structural geology, drilling and sampling techniques
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with ability to train and mentor junior staff members
  • Competent user of mining and geology-related software packages
  • Ability to work autonomously with well-developed time management skills
