Perth, Australia Karara Mining Ltd Full time

With an expected mine life of 30+ years, it will underpin a long-term iron ore business and provide sustainable benefits to the regional community in which we operate. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced **Geology Superintendent** to lead our Geology team based on site at the Karara Mine.

This position operates on a **5 days on 2 days off 4 days on 3 days off **continuous day shift roster.

**Key responsibilities;**
- Demonstrate personal leadership by meeting all Karara's safety policy and procedure requirements
- Role-model safe work practices and positive safety leadership to your team and colleagues
- Management of Geological procedures, production tracking and reporting systems
- Manage the process of grade control and resource definition drilling, sampling and recording
- Ensuring collection of data is accurately recorded in geological and geo-technical databases
- Responsible for collating and distributing production statistics and completing reconciliation of ore resource and reserve models
- Where possible, assisting with ground control, de-watering, mining engineering/planning and site survey requirements
- Supervise the design and implementation of exploration programs with the primary objective of identifying and delineating mineral resources
- Ensuring consistent compliance with health, safety & environmental policies, legislation, statutory requirements, licenses, permits and other environmental commitments
- Ensure that the Geology team have clear direction, information, instruction and training to perform their duties
- Advise and support team in the execution of their duties
- Day to day management of team by way of performance reviews, counselling, mentoring, disciplining etc
- Review expenditure reports on monthly basis and identify and variances or opportunities for improvement

**Essential requirements;**
- Tertiary Degree in Geological Science or related discipline
- Proficiency in the use of Surpac software
- WA Mines Safety & Inspection Regulations Act 1995 - Section 44 Appointed Persons
- WA C Class Drivers License
- Membership of a recognised Australian Geoscience Organisation (ie. AusIMM or AIG) - preferred
- Cert IV in Frontline Management or Leadership & Management (BSB42015) - preferred
- Demonstrated experience in similar senior level Geology position within the mining industry
- Strong technical knowledge of the Geology function in an iron ore environment
- Demonstrated experience and capability in leading teams or technical specialists
- Strong knowledge of environmental and associated legislation
- National Police Clearance
- Permanent work rights in Australia
