The Role
Proud Mary is looking for an ambitious, experienced, and energetic team member to join our Melbourne HQ as Sales Manager. This unique opportunity will help our existing sales team expand our customer base through selling rare, exciting, and relationship-driven coffee.
The primary purpose of this role is to be a key part of our Melbourne team in acquiring clients and helping existing customers collaborate, brew and promote the unique coffee range available at Proud Mary.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Connecting with decision-makers through your own prospecting and marketing leads;
- Conducting discovery calls and visits to learn of coffee program goals and challenges, then determining if Proud Mary’s products are the right fit;
- Confirming pricing, handling negotiations, and progressing the sales process;
- Implementing, executing and evolving sales operations and strategies;
- Assisting younger sales team members to achieve success in both sales and retention
- Support with on-site training, delivery, administrative tasks, and operational work
- Partake in a culture of coffee excellence, fun, recognition, and community
The role will report to our Australian Head of Sales with considerable guidance on sales and business leadership. You will also receive career development guidance from our broader Global Leadership Team as you grow in the role. The sales team is heavily backed by our internal production/ roasting team that lead a world class coffee production program geared to exceed customers’ expectations.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is keen to be hands-on with sales, build your personal client base, undertake operational responsibilities, and ambitiously grow your sales pipeline through networking and prospecting.
You will get a thrill chasing down the next sale while also feeling motivated and rewarded to help your team to do the same.
You must be able to demonstrate:
- Extensive sales skills and experience;
- A strong history or connection to wholesale sales within the coffee industry;
- Proven client acquisition skills;
- Natural empathy to build strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally;
- A drive for excellence in all that you do (including coffee brewing);
- Sound negotiation and networking skills;
- Strong business acumen and experience with performance tracking
- Experience using a CRM is ideal (ie, Hub Spot)
- Have a valid Australian Drivers licence and be eligible for Full-Time work in Australia
Practical Information
Salary will be discussed and negotiated based on experience.
