Your Team - Regional Development and Manufacturing The Regional Economic Development (RED) group is committed to delivering objectives for the community, Our Future State: Advancing Queensland's Priorities. RED will help the government to 'create jobs in a strong economy' and 'be a responsive government' in particular in supporting the growth of regional manufacturing and growing regional economies.There are two divisions in RED: Regional Development and Manufacturing (RDM) and Water Infrastructure and Strategic Coordination (WISC).RDM will partner with the manufacturing industry to drive increased productivity and international competitiveness and to position Queensland as a leader, nationally and internationally, for its advanced manufacturing technologies, products, systems and services.RDM's Manufacturing Hub network work across the regions and provide a place for local manufacturing businesses to receive expert advice and support to transition to advanced manufacturing.WISC will prioritise, assess and, where required deliver, bulk water supply infrastructure proposals and related water products; provide governance of state owned bulk water supply entities, including oversight of water pricing regulation and coordinate emergent strategic matters (e.g. growth of the hydrogen sector and development of regional infrastructure plans) and provide economic advice on relevant water issues. Your Contribution
- Work with the Principal Business Support Officer to develop, coordinate and manage effective systems and processes to ensure preparation of quality and timely executive correspondence and briefs (ministerial and departmental), including for events (e.g. Community Cabinet, Ministerial and Director-General visits, Media etc) and dissemination of information, to support the reporting responsibilities of the Deputy Director-General. Coordinate the daily flow of business to and from the DDG and Executive Director's offices. Coordinate and contribute to business planning, reporting and briefing requirements for the Division. Provide reliable, timely and quality information and advice on matters relating to the department. Develop and maintain networks and relationships within the Department and with key stakeholders. Coordinate procurement and manage contractual arrangements on behalf of the Group. Assist the management team to plan and review work programs, staff development and communications issues as requested. Use skills in analysis and problem solving to assist the DDG and Executive Director's. Implement information technology-based solutions to support program management approaches (in particular, SharePoint). Undertake investigation, research and analysis to support the delivery of the Groups responsibilities. Other duties as directed and required.
