**About the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority**:
The Queensland Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (RA) is responsible for regulating the early childhood education and care sector. This includes approved education and care services operating under the National Quality Framework (NQF), such as family day care, kindergarten, long day care and outside school hours care. The RA also regulates a smaller number of approved services operating under the Education and Care Services Act 2013 (ECS Act).

Your Role
**As the Principal Regulatory Officer you will**:
- Establish collaborative relationships with ECEC providers and services and other government agencies to develop and implement strategies to deliver regulatory objectives.
The Principal Regulatory Officer reports to the Manager, Compliance within the Brisbane office of the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Leading investigations into suspected non-compliance with the National Law;
- Making recommendations for enforcement action that are appropriate and proportionate to the non-compliance and risk identified;
- Drafting various administrative decision letters and notices;
- Designing and implementing targeted responses and interventions in line with the RA's regulatory priorities;
- Conducting internal reviews of administrative decisions and outcomes of complaint investigations;
- Providing advice and support to other regulatory staff both within the Compliance team and more broadly across the RA's regional offices.
**About You**:
- Knowledge and experience as a professional regulator in a public agency is highly desirable.
- Experience in leading staff in administrative decision making, regulatory compliance, auditing and/or investigations is highly desirable.
**Mandatory requirements**:
- Authorisation under section 195 - Authorisation of authorised officers of the Education and Care Services National Law (Queensland) is a requirement of this role. In accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 a person is prohibited from working in regulated child-related employment unless the person holds a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
