**The Role**
The Diplomatic Clearance - Air (DIPA) Team is critical to Defence capability being the single point of contact for the coordination and management of diplomatic clearances for all Australian State aircraft flying internationally, and for granting approval for Foreign State aircraft to overfly and land in Australian sovereign territory.
DIPA is responsible for the following:
- Processing Diplomatic Clearances for Australian State aircraft and Foreign State aircraft.
- Checking itineraries for overseas tasks using aeronautical information charts and Flight Planning Tools.
- Liaising with Foreign Embassies and High Commissions and Departmental/Australian Defence Force (ADF) elements on diplomatic clearance and issues concerning aspects of military movements.
- Provide specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders on the diplomatic clearance process, and or constraints associated with international aircraft movements.
- Coordinate annual diplomatic clearances for both ADF aircraft and Foreign State aircraft.
- Maintaining relevant international civil aviation and foreign military international publications, records and documentation as appropriate.
**About our Team**
The Diplomatic Clearance Officer is employed by Headquarters Air Command (HQAC) and works within the Australian Air Component (AAC). The role is based at Headquarters Joint Operations Command (HQJOC) Bungendore, NSW. This position has the flexibility of working between HQJOC (once NV2 is obtained) and Fairbairn, ACT or RAAF Base Richmond, NSW (flexibility/location to be discussed).
The AAC mission is to plan and execute the rapid, adaptable and precise delivery of air effects on behalf of Chief of Joint Operations (CJOPS) and Chief of Air Force (CAF).
Our small team comprises of a mix of Australian Public Service (APS), permanent and reserve Australian Defence Force (ADF) members.
