**The Role**
The Contracting Officer will work within the Headquarters Joint Movements (HQ JM) Movements Contracting Cell (MCC), performing simple and complex procurement activities, and contract management activities including related finance duties.
The Contracting Offer must form enduring professional relationships with Defence stakeholders, and demonstrate Defence writing skills appropriate to target audiences within Defence and industry. The Contracting Officer works in an environment that is periodically fast-paced with tight deadlines, undertaking a broad range of contracting tasks. Some contract related activities may occur off-site and interstate at contractor or other Defence establishments.
Working hours are generally 08:00 to 16:30 Monday to Friday; however, there is a degree of flexibility that may be negotiated. Periodically, the Contracting Officer will be required to utilise flexible hours to support operational contracting outcomes. It is important to note that HQ JM is an operational lodger unit within Headquarters Joint Operations Command.
