**The Role**
Headquarters Joint Operations Command (HQJOC) is seeking an Administration Officer to support the search, analysis and provision of appropriate operational information in support of stakeholder requests. This role will report to the Information Response Coordinator and will be responsible for coordinating search activities for current and historic operational data across multiple Defence databases in response to requests for information from various internal and external stakeholders.
The performance of the Administration Officer will be measured against the quality of timely and comprehensive search outcomes, engagement with stakeholders and management of priorities and expectations. The Administration Officer may also support the other administrative functions within the cell. This may include FOI/Ministerial responses, development of draft briefs, supporting the implementation of Defence initiatives allocated to HQJOC and incident management coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Professionalism and maturity to build effective relationships with team members and both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of contemporary business processes, including information management, correspondence management and data management/analysis.
- Develop effective relationships in order to research areas to be documented and develop detailed documentation for publication.
- Strong understanding of Australian Government and Defence security frameworks, including document reclassification and redaction processes.
- Conduct activity in accordance with HQJOC and JOC SIM Cell policies, processes and procedures.
- Analyse work tasks to determine the relevant data repositories to be searched and the most appropriate search methodologies.
- Assist in the discovery and retrieval of information in response to requests for information in a timely and efficient manner.
- Analyse information to ensure it is relevant to the search parameters and ensure search documentation is completed in accordance with policies, processes and procedures.
- Contribute to the knowledge base within areas of practice/expertise.
- Be flexible in the approach to managing changing priorities in this fast paced and productive environment, along with the eagerness to learn and advance in a growing organisation.
- Identify opportunities for business transformation for better utilisation of resources and processes.
- Support team members in carrying out their assigned secondary roles.
- Provide additional support within HQJOC as directed.
- Consider the welfare requirements of the team.
**About our Team**
Headquarters Joint Operations Command (HQJOC) is the Australian Defence Force's operational level headquarters responsible for the command and control of ADF operations domestically and overseas.
The Sensitive Issues Management Cell is responsible for the management of joint operational, exercise incidents, and providing operational information returns to various stakeholders including the Afghanistan Inquiry Response Task Force, the Royal Commission in to Defence Veteran Suicide Task Force and the Official History Project of the Australian War Memorial. The Informational Response Team consists of APS/ADF Reservists and contractors.
