**Chief People Officer**.

This is a leadership position, and the role reports directly to the Group GM.

Our client has a chain of cafes across NSW, VIC, QLD and NZ in addition to a state of the art wholesale kitchen that supplies bespoke products to a wide range of clients nationally.

Our client is going through a transformative and exciting new phase of growth as they are pushing ahead with doubling their footprint in Australia and beyond.

With so many exciting projects in the pipeline, there’s no better time to join them on the journey and be part of the long term success.

This is a critical position within the business so there’s an opportunity to have a huge impact as they seek to establish themselves as an employer of choice within the hospitality industry.

**The Role**:

The CPO will initially need to balance strategic planning with operational execution to build the foundations required as the business seeks to grow, while also possessing strong interpersonal skills to build genuine connections with stakeholders across a variety of experiences.

Some key initial initiatives of this role as they seek to rebuild from the ground up are:

- **Building Retention Strategies**: Have a deep understanding of what motivates employees to stay with the organisation, as well as the ability to develop and implement programs that address those factors. Identifying high-potential talent and creating development plans that help those individuals progress within the organisation.
- **Succession Planning**: Develop a framework for succession planning. Be adept at identifying the skills and experience required for key roles within the organisation and mapping out a plan to fill those roles as they become vacant.
- **Policy & Procedure Improvement**: Develop policies and procedures that align with best practices and support the needs of the business. Have a keen eye for detail and be able to identify gaps or inefficiencies in existing policies and procedures, with a focus on streamlining processes and improving compliance.
- **Brand Engagement**: Be passionate about building engagement across the brand and have experience developing programs that foster a positive work environment. Be skilled at working with employees at all levels of the organisation and creating opportunities for feedback and collaboration.

The CPO must be a strong communicator who’s able to build genuine relationships with stakeholders across the business. Have a strategic mindset that enables change and to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
