**The Role**

As the Head of Events and Sponsorship at Georges River Council, you'll be at the forefront of creating vibrant community experiences. Leading a dynamic team of Events professionals and collaborating across the organisation, you'll conceptualise, plan, and execute captivating events that reflect our community's aspirations and promote the Georges River area. Your expertise will be instrumental in forging strong internal and external partnerships and elevating Council's reputation.
- Oversee the planning, organisation, delivery, and evaluation of community, civic, and cultural events.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment for your team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Secure sponsorships and partnerships to support event initiatives.
- Measure event success and implement improvements based on data analysis.

**What's on offer**
- Temporary till November 2025, full time - 70 hours per fortnight (contract position to cover parental leave)
- Salary from $123,891.39 - $143,546.89 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation

- **Must be available to work during Council’s Major Events period from December 2024 to March 2025.**

**Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications**:

- Tertiary qualifications (University bachelor's degree or equivalent) in Event Management or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in event planning and execution.
- Proven track record in leading and motivating teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management abilities.
- Experience in budget development and management.
- Current Class C NSW Driver's License.

**Physical Requirements**
- Capacity to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays.
- Must be capable of maintaining a prolonged standing or walking posture throughout the day.
- Needs sufficient mobility to negotiate stairs and ramps, and to move over surfaces that can be slippery and uneven.
