**About the role**
- To assist in the conduct of research projects aligned to the strategic priorities of the CCQ Viertel Cancer Research Centre (CRC)
- The position requires the Research Assistant to work closely with other
- researchers within and external to CCQ.
**This is Fixed Term Full-Time for 2 years role.**
**About you**
To be successful in this role, under the supervision of the Team Leader, Health Systems and Behavioural Research, the Research Assistant will:
- Actively contribute to the co-ordination of cancer research projects and where appropriate, contribute to other health research initiatives at the CRC as directed
- Assist in the daily conduct of various research projects in cancer prevention, screening and survivorship through activities including:
- o Participant recruitment and follow-up
- o Conducting interviews and/or focus groups
- o Survey design and data collection
- o Literature Reviews
- o Drafting publications
- Assist in present results in various formats and arenas, including scientific and policy publications and presentations to academic and other audiences
- General administrative tasks to support researchers in the unit as needed.
**Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills**
**Essential Skills**:
- Experience working in a professional/team setting
- An understanding of ethical principles as they relate to research conduct
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professionalism
- Excellent organisational skills
**Desirable Skills**:
- Experience in a research role (paid or volunteer)
- Previous experience in a role involving one-on-one communication with the public, health professionals or policymakers
- Experience conducting interviews
- Experience using digital research and referencing tools such as Endnote, Zotero, Covidence, Qualtrics, NVivo, SPSS, R, Mplus, STATA, SAS and/or similar
