The YMCA School Breakfast Program began in September 2006 with the support of the Clem Jones Group and Foodbank Queensland with the aim to provide students with opportunities to maximise their education and develop healthy eating habits. Our School Breakfast Program supports optimal behavioural outcomes in the classroom, enhances student engagement and school connectedness while positively impacting student academic performance.

We are now seeking a **Research Assistant** on a **Casual** basis to join the team at the Social Impact Support Services Administration Office located at Bowen Hills, QLD.

The Research Assistant will provide a range of project support services to the School Breakfast Program team. Specifically, you will be required to collect, manage, and analyse data for the Department of Communities, Housing, and Digital Economy School Breakfast Program.

**As a Research Assistant your duties will include**:

- Coordinating project tasks, including desktop research, consultation with internal and external stakeholders, preparing data collection and analysis plans, and regular reporting to Senior Management
- Collating existing program data into comprehensive, easy-to-understand graphics designed to demonstrate trends over time
- Conducting an ongoing literature review to build the evidence base for the School Breakfast Program
- Liaising with external stakeholders to collect, report data and draft case studies
- Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to produce insights on the effectiveness and impact of The YMCA School Breakfast program

**To be considered for this position, you must have the following**:

- Current or completed undergraduate degree in the Social Sciences such as Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Public Health, Justice or Human Services and/or relevant and demonstrated experience in collating and analysing qualitative and quantitative data in a social research context
- Demonstrated experience in project co-ordination including planning key objectives and deliverables, identifying and coordinating the required resources, conducting thorough research, engaging and consulting with stakeholders
- Demonstrated understanding of data collection methods, including survey construction, interview techniques and accurately analysing quantitative and qualitative data
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Sound organisational skills and multi-tasking capabilities
- Possess, or be willing to obtain, a Blue Card and National Police Check
- Working knowledge of NVivo and/or Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) desirable
