**Contracts Manager** to work within the Shaft and Underground Construction division. Ideally, the successful applicant will be considered a Senior in their field, looking to take that next step into a Manager's position within the business.

**About The Role**

The role will be responsible for managing the contracts process for the Shaft & Underground Construction division, this includes but is not limited to upstream contract management, downstream contract management, drafting of correspondence, variation and extension of time claims, production of project reports and negotiating positive outcomes for the project. The Contracts Manager will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions, as well as identifying and mitigating any potential risks associated with the contracts.

**_ Core Responsibilities_**
- Draft and negotiate variations, progress claims and EOT claims.
- Develop and maintain a contract registers to track all contract correspondence and claims and their status.
- Work with legal and other stakeholders to ensure that contracts meet the company's requirements and mitigate any risks associated with the contracts.
- Undertake negotiation of contracts, including terms and conditions and pricing and delivery, monitor contractors' performance, measure work in progress and propose and negotiate changes to enhance contractors' support to the project.
- Monitor Subcontractor's performance, approve invoices with proper supporting documentation, conduct change negotiations, manage and negotiate claims, maintain contract files, closeout contract when completion has occurred and provide surviving documentation to responsible parties.
- Proactively identify and manage contract risks.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on contractual obligations and best practices.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices related to contract management.
- Ensure compliance with delegations of authority and company procedures.
- Oversee contract dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration.
- Any other duties reasonably required to ensure effective management of the contracts.

**Essential to be Successful**
- Comprehensive understanding of contract management and procurement
- Strong, clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Comprehensive understanding of the project lifecycle and project controls.
