Commercial Manager

Our people are the heart and soul of our business. Due to continuous growth, we are looking for a Commercial Manager to join our TVSN Finance Team**.**

**About the role**:
As Commercial Manager, you will support our business with our growth and change initiatives. You will recognise the importance of business analytics and insights in making decisions and using data to support and enhance our business strategy. The Commercial Manager role will be the central point for all planning and analysis activities driving to a forward based view, and will reporting to the CFO.

**What you can expect to do**:

- Manage and optimise the operation and performance of the financial management and accounting functions across Innovations and Direct Publishing divisions
- Cashflow Management with emphasis on maintaining positive company cash balances.
- Forecasting & Budgeting - develop, manage and own the annual budgeting and forecast process ensuring a robust outcome
- Reporting & Analysis - support the preparation of monthly analysis results and variance commentary vs budget or forecast that provides meaningful insight into business performance
- Actively engage and collaborate with the CFO and leadership team to help influence the future direction Direct Group in line with the growth objectives
- Manage analytical tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information
- Oversee tax compliance, statutory reporting and all audit requirements for Direct Group Publishing in all countries the division operates. This includes Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan
- Team management and development

**What you’ll bring to the role**:

- CA / CPA qualified with at least 10 years post-qualification experience
- Excellent technical skills and knowledge across all facets of financial management and reporting, taxation, treasury and governance
- Strong experience in business partnering at senior management/executive level
- Extensive experience in business case development and investment analysis
- Very strong people leadership skills, particularly in team building and coaching
- Experience managing and leading small team
- Demonstrated advanced modelling and analytical skills and passion for the power of data in driving business performance
- Displays initiative, identifies and evaluates issues; makes decision in a proactive manner
- Detail orientated, with a high degree of accuracy balanced with a pragmatic approach
- Self-sufficiency and a high degree of autonomy
- Able to meet unexpected workflow demands and strict deadlines
- Strong Microsoft Excel and data management skills
- Experience working in retail, FMCG and consumer based industries
- Experience working with Private Equity is favourable
