Underwriter is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with brokers and intermediaries to successfully quote and win on renewal and new business accounts supporting renewable energy and power generation clients.

**Strategy & Planning**
- Contribute to the execution of the Business Plan
- Achievement of the Team objectives
- Actively manage renewal portfolio and new business targets
**Policy, Process and Procedures**:
- Monitor, review and comply with all underwriting standards, procedures and processes.
- Risks are underwritten in accordance with authorities, organisational policies and underwriting standards.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement processes.
- All policies, processes, and procedure in compliance with business and regulatory standards
**Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus**:
- Deliver timely decisions and problem-solving solutions for clients and brokers
- Actively increase and share knowledge of QBE capability, risk appetite and products as well as brokers' operations to strengthen our delivery of innovative solutions.
- Work in collaboration with all areas of QBE to leverage opportunities.
- Positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
**Technical Performance**:
- develop and improve a strong knowledge of current legislation, best practice, underwriting, systems, products, and organisational guidelines to deliver positive outcomes for clients and QBE.
- demonstrate and share an understanding of basic underwriting principals, risk analytical skills, market conditions, and claims trend
- meet all minimum internal and external QBE service standards.

- Demonstrate QBE DNA
- Work collaboratively with Assistant Underwriters, processing team and other functions
- Build and foster a positive working environment.
**About you**
- Ideally reasonable experience in underwriting.
- Business Development and/or Sales experience preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant industry regulations (NCCP, Fair Trading, Privacy Act, Insurance Contracts Act).
- Negotiation and Problem-Solving Skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team.
- Relationship Management and Communication Skills.
- Analytical and Research Skills.
