About the Opportunity:

The Underwriting Assistant – Renewable Energy will be responsible for providing business administrative support to Underwriters to help effectively service client accounts.

This role ensures accuracy and timeliness in policy documentation, correspondence, and data entry, supporting the efficient workflow of the underwriting team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Production of documentation including quotations/non-binding indications (NBIs), certificates of insurance and endorsements.
  • Invoicing original, additional and return premiums.
  • Prepare and maintain records of negotiations with clients following meetings
  • Utilise the electronic document management system for all enquiries, quotes, bound and renewing business
  • Management of the compliance procedures and approval process for the business
  • Provide support to Underwriters and Assistant Underwriters
  • To be principal liaison for Bridgend support team and control workflow and queries as well as quality control on behalf of Underwriters.
  • Pre-underwriting of new and renewal accounts ready to pass to Underwriters & Assistant Underwriters including compliance checks and approvals.
  • Verifying premium payment with accounting team ahead of renewal.

About You:

As our preferred candidate, you will have:

  • 1–2 years of experience in insurance, underwriting, or administrative support preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred
  • Familiarity with underwriting principles and terminology.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and insurance software systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational and communication skills.
