**About the role**:
YP-COPMI is a specialist mental health service for Children of Parents with Mental Illness. This position is part of the local Adult Mental Health Team, with joint leadership from HNELHD CAMHS and the local Adult Mental Health team. YP-COPMI works collaboratively with the assigned adult mental health clinician to provide family-focused care for both parents and children. It plays a crucial role in establishing care pathways and referrals to community providers, guided by the NSW Health Family-Focused Recovery Framework.
This recruitment will fill two currently available positions:
- 1.07 FTE Permanent (full time/part time/job share considered) for YP-COPMI Greater Newcastle - based primarily at the Lake Macquarie Mental Health Team (Charlestown).
- 0.4 FTE Temporary (Immediate Start - 3/1/25) at Hunter Valley Mental Health Team (Maitland).
YP-COPMI offers specialist child and infant mental health support, either through direct patient care or consultation, for young people whose parents are linked with an Adult Mental Health Team. This includes support for severe or complex perinatal mental health disorders, severe depression and/or anxiety, postpartum psychosis, bipolar affective disorder, schizophrenia, complex trauma, and personality disorders.
**About you**:
We are seeking an emotionally intelligent, client-centered, and enthusiastic Senior Clinician who has the ability to support the needs of young people and their families experiencing acute mental health. Expert interpersonal relationships will be key in this role.
Alongside the multi-disciplinary clinical support of the Adult Mental Health Team including direct line management, you will also be supported by the broader YP-COPMI HNE Team including CAMHS Special Program Coordinator and 2 other COPMI Clinicians (via monthly team meetings). The position has professional responsibility to the appropriate HNELHD Mental Health Head of Discipline and will be linked into discipline specific supervision and support.
**Essential Requirements**:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications, professional registration/membership as applicable, plus significant clinical experience in Child and Youth Mental Health.
- Clinical Psychologists must have a minimum postgraduate Masters in Clinical Psychology and current registration with AHPRA.
- For Social Work/Occupational Therapy, qualification in accordance with Schedule C, and eligibility for Level 3 of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award.
- Social Worker eligible for membership of AASW or Occupational Therapy with current registration with AHPRA.
- For Nursing, current unrestricted registration with AHPRA & meet the requirement for Clinical Nurse Specialist 2 grading under the NSW Public Health System Nurses' & Midwives' State Award.
- Current unrestricted Australian drivers’ licence
