**About us**:
The Autism Hub is a portfolio within the Disability, Inclusion and Student Services Branch of State Schools. Located at Woolloongabba, the Autism Hub is a cross-sector service building the capability and confidence of educators and parents to lift outcomes for students with autism across Queensland.The Principal Advisor, Autism provides high-level strategic advice to senior officers of the department and other key stakeholders, liaises with internal and external stakeholders, provides ongoing evaluation of activities and work practices, and manages multiple projects, coordinating the development of systemic initiatives relating to the priorities of the Autism Hub.
**Your role**:
The ideal applicant will be someone who demonstrates the following key capabilities:
- Knowledge, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge, of the department's agenda for improvement in schools. Demonstrated ability to provide strategic direction and support for core learning priorities and to effectively gather evidence of best practices, recognising links between interconnected issues.
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams and complex projects, and develop innovative and effective options and solutions to deliver departmental initiatives within time and cost limitations.
- Proven ability to build and sustain productive and effective relationships with a network of key stakeholders internal and external to the department.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-level strategic advice to the Minister, Director-General and senior officers of the department, while consistently demonstrating key public service values.
- Demonstrated highly developed communication skills including demonstrated ability to prepare briefings and submissions on complex issues, and to liaise and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders on complex and sensitive issues.
**Mandatory requirements**:
- When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
