**About the Opportunity**

As the Student Success Coordinator - Aboriginal Engagement you will manage and develop the Riawunna Academic Assistance Program including culturally safe and customised engagement initiatives with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, and Higher Degree by Research students. In addition, this role will:

- Manage recruitment and onboarding of Riawunna Academic Assistants.
- In collaboration with the Pro Vice-Chancellor Aboriginal Leadership, Director Institute of Indigenous Knowledges, and the Graduate Research Office, directly support all Higher Degree by Research Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, including coordination of orientation activities, scholarship support and pastoral care initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Riawunna Aboriginal Student Advisers to effectively monitor student progress, identify students at risk of study non-completion, and work to ensure students receive high level support for successful completion.
- Create new and engaging ways to connect with and inform the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students including the creation of an Indigenous student MyLo (online Learning Management System).
- Produce high quality written reports and produce evidence-based data and reports of progress to enable effective management and high performance of the program.

**What’s Required**
- Extensive experience and specialist knowledge; or completion of degree level qualification with relevant experience; or relevant combination of training, education and experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and in a culturally sensitive manner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Ability to ensure accuracy of data to produce and analyse reports, and strong skills in financial management.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team.
- Ability to lead strategic and operational discussions and influence decision-making with relevant stakeholders
- Current Working with Vulnerable people registration, and/or the ability to obtain
