**Your new role awaits**:
The Procurement Officer position based at our **Dandenong** Branch, is an important role within Coates and is responsible for identifying procurement opportunities, conducting analysis and making recommendations on suppliers within an approved supplier list to meet business requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner. This role will also actively contribute to delivering cost savings and alignments in procurement processes and procedures nationally. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Taking orders for spare parts from our mechanical team
- Raising purchase orders online and operating the Base Plan system
- Placing orders accurately and efficiently
- Regular liaison with an extensive range of suppliers
- Operation of a forklift for loading and unloading
- Attending to site/branch visitors
- Stocktaking
- Ownership of health and safety for all employees, contractors and customers
- Assisting your team in managing stores
- Providing excellent customer service
**About you**:
Your ability to build rapport and good working relationships using strong customer service skills is an essential part of this role. It will from time to time require problem solving and conflict resolution skills drawing upon the need to manage your time and demonstrate a knack for organisation.
- Positive attitude and problem-solving skills
- Current forklift ticket is desirable
- Experience working in a fast-paced, busy work environment
- Previous experience in a warehousing or logistics environment
- Ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team
- Computer skills (Excel spreadsheeting)
- Strong attention to detail
