**Your new role**
We are looking for an enthusiastic professional to fill the role of Safer Communities Officer. You will positively contribute to enhancing partnerships across Council and the Knox community, including Victoria Police and community organisations, to develop policies, initiatives and projects that work towards addressing community safety and improving the health and wellbeing of the Knox community. Integral to the role is the ability to deliver effective evidence based crime prevention responses and initiatives that address complex community problems whilst having an in-depth understanding of diverse needs, backgrounds and perspectives.
This is a Band 6 classified role, remuneration will be $95,488.69 - $104,288.00 (depending on experience) (pro-rata for part time) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
**What you will need to thrive**
The key selection criteria for this role are:
- Demonstrated experience and extensive knowledge in community development practice and planning processes.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing evidence-based prevention programs that includes assessing crime trends and identifying risk factors to develop effective prevention strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in high level project management skills.
- Ability to prepare concise, accurate and well communicated project plans and reports.
- Demonstrated experience in building strong and collaborative internal and external partnerships.
- Ability to deliver presentations tailoring styles to a variety of audiences.
