**Your new role**:
In this dynamic role, you'll have the opportunity to lead initiatives that promote understanding and respect for First Nations and multicultural communities. You'll play a key part in facilitating dialogue and collaboration between diverse groups, helping to strengthen relationships and build trust. As part of your responsibilities, you'll oversee the Council’s Community Grant Program, supporting partnerships that lead to improved health and wellbeing outcomes. You’ll also develop and implement targeted programs that address critical social issues like alcohol harm, problem gambling, and community safety and work closely with local law enforcement, businesses, community organizations, and residents to develop practical, local solutions to community issues. This is a Band 8 classified role, remuneration will be $125,409.17 - $140,806.03(depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

**What you will need to thrive**

The key selection criteria for this role are:

- Tertiary qualifications in Health Promotion, Community Development and/or Crime Prevention or extensive and diverse experience in another specialist field or similar role in Local Government.
- Demonstrated experience in Local Government or a non-government organisation in developing and delivering programs focused on community partnerships and empowerment.
- Strong professional people leadership skills with a genuine commitment to embedding the organisations values within teams
- Proven experience in facilitating dialogue and collaboration between diverse groups, helping to strengthen relationships and build trust
- Extensive experience in working collaboratively across sectors and disciplines, fostering partnerships to address the diversity of community needs.
- Highly developed understanding of community safety and its guiding principles.
- Demonstrated understanding of the complexity of social problems that intersect and impact on community health and wellbeing and safety, in particular alcohol harm and problem gambling.
- Experience and understanding of managing a grant program utilising best practice guidelines.
- Proficient in utilising research to implement evidence-based, data-driven strategies and projects, with the aim of enhancing community safety and health and wellbeing outcomes.
- Extensive experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating community programs and initiatives.
