About the role
Calvary is seeking an experienced risk officer to join the national office team. The National Risk Officer will be responsible for proactively managing and mitigating risk across the business. This will involve reviewing and updating the Company’s risk management framework to ensure appropriate risk identification, assessment and management. The National Risk Officer will be responsible for cultivating a culture of risk awareness in the business, identifying emerging risks and recommending solutions, controls and mitigations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and regularly review risk management policies and procedures specific to the Company’s needs and regulatory environments in which we operate.
Design and assist in the implementation of a programme of education and change to improve and embed good risk management practices.
Support internal and external audits of risk management practices, ensuring that any identified gaps are addressed promptly and effectively.
Maintain, review and enhance the risk register.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the risk function including the regular review and updating of risk management framework to reflect emerging risks and opportunities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About you
Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, business, health service management or a related discipline.
Proven experience in risk management, preferably in the health sector.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in developing, advising and implementing risk management frameworks and processes which are aligned to ISO31000:2018 preferably in the health care sector
Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced interpersonal and communication skills to manage diverse stakeholders.
Experience in leading and implementing change and improvement initiatives.
Proficiency in utilising risk and incident systems to deliver quality outcomes.
Experience providing risk advice to business strategy and development activities to improve decision making.
Advanced communication skills including well developed influencing, negotiation and report-writing capability.
