This role requires an ability to work with autonomy, manage multiple priorities, and maintain excellent communication and organisational skills. Flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends, are essential to the role. **About You** - The main duties of the role include but are not limited to the below:_ **Key Responsibilities** **External Events** - Promote and manage external event bookings to drive revenue. - Monitor and update event package pricing based on market trends. - Conduct venue tours and adapt offerings to client needs. - Manage client expectations in alignment with event space features and capabilities. - Oversee the full sales process from lead follow-up to final execution. - Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and refine event collateral. - Play an active role in event execution, ensuring seamless communication with the Community Team. - Coordinate setup, bump-in/out, and on-the-day event logistics, with a focus on AV and technical requirements. - Facilitate building access for events and provide post-event customer service support. **Supplier Relationships** - Maintain strong relationships with third-party partners to ensure high-quality catering, AV, and entertainment. - Negotiate with vendors for favourable terms and value-for-money services. **Budget Management** - Manage budgets for external events, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability. - Oversee internal event budgets (excluding Community events) for major functions like the Halloween Party and staff Christmas party. - Optimise financial outcomes through strategic negotiation and expense management. **General Support** - Take a lead role in managing nominated internal events. - Partner with the Marketing team to host and execute key events. - Provide coverage across different locations as required by the State Manager. - Support the Community Team in planning and executing events. **Benefits of Working at The Commons** - Collins Street Head Office - On-site Chef with daily nutritious lunch provided - Free counselling sessions - Birthday leave - Quarterly team dinners & generous awards - Ability to work across different locations - Birthday & anniversary gifts - State social committees hosting monthly events (pub drinks, picnics, bowling, movie screenings, etc.) - Weekly "Saturday Sweat" group exercise event - Weekly events program (e.g., breakfast club, yoga & drinks) - Additional paid maternity leave - Exclusive annual Halloween party - Work travel opportunities - Further education support for personal and professional growth **Values** All actions and behaviours must align with the company’s core values: - Putting our members first - Fostering our community - Working together as a team - Constantly learning and growing
