A local council located in the East is looking for a Recreation Project Officer for an immediate start

Working within an established and professional recreation and leisure team and working closely with the capital delivery team, this role will see you managing multiple minor and major (up to $4M) capital works facility renewal projects, multiple playground new and refurbishment projects, numerous sports lighting projects as well as oval and pavilion redevelopment and irrigation projects from the planning, design through to handover to the Capital Works Team. You will not be required to manage the projects through the construction phase but will be working closely with the project managers.

Additionally, you will liaise with multiple external user groups and local residents and undertake extensive meetings with stakeholders as well as all project management functions including preparing business cases, funding submissions, quotations, schematic plans and oversee project budgets and timelines. You will facilitate all communications to residents in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team, regularly attend site meetings across key milestones of construction projects and undertake tenant walk through.

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful, you will ideally have;
- Tertiary qualification in Sport or Construction and/or strong demonstrated experience in sports and leisure construction and buildings projects (ideally within local government in Melbourne) where you have delivered capital or leisure and open space projects (playgrounds, footpaths, sports shelters and oval redevelopments, sports pavilions etc.)
- Strong stakeholder management, a high level of communication skills both written and verbal and
- Be proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word and Excel) and Trim and CAMs
- Hold a valid Victorian driver's license and must have your own personal vehicle to use as pool cars are limited (kilometre reimbursement will be organised)
- Must have a full Working with Children's check or be willing to undertake and pay for one prior to commencement
- Undertake a police and ex-employer reference check
- Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 as this role requires construction site and office visits
