**About the role**
CareSouth has a fulfilling opportunity for a Policy Officer to join the team in a part-time (min 3 days p/w), permanent role. The location for the position is negotiable, either based in the Nowra or Illawarra office, for the successful applicant.
The key function of the Policy Officer role is to coordinate, undertake and initiate research and policy development. You will also provide evidence-based analysis and advice to help develop high-quality policy. CareSouth’s policies drive the way we work and contribute to better outcomes for those we support. It’s a critical role, filled with purpose and one that fills your cup up, so to speak

**The successful applicant will have**:
- A commitment to the safety of children, young people and people with disability
- Experience drafting organisational policies and procedures
- Advanced computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel
- Higher-order thinking, analytical and research skills, and an ability to understand and implement legislative requirements and external standards
- High-level organisational, time management and administrative ability
- Understanding of the role of operational policy within an organisation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent command of written English and attention to detail
- Proven ability to complete projects and meet deadlines with mínimal supervision
- Ability to be flexible and adaptive in changing environments, and to work under pressure to deliver results
- Ability to work collaboratively and consultatively
- Capacity to engage with stakeholders, manage competing viewpoints and build consensus
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to continuous improvement
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check and obtain a (NSW) Working with Children Check clearance.
