**About the Role**
As a **Veterinary Policy and Projects Officer**, you'll play a key role in developing and implementing effective animal biosecurity strategies to support the _Biosecurity Act _2015. Your role will cover the entire policy development lifecycle - from identifying emerging biosecurity threats to providing expert advice, conducting in depth research and evaluating the effectiveness of policies. You’ll collaborate with government bodies, industry stakeholders, and national forums to strengthen NSW’s biosecurity framework. Additionally, you’ll play a key role in planning and responding to biosecurity emergencies affecting both terrestrial and aquatic species.

**About You**

You bring a strong understanding of the veterinary and animal industries in NSW, combined with excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills. You thrive in collaborative environments, working effectively within teams to achieve shared goals. Your passion for protecting animal health and welfare makes you an asset to the biosecurity field, and your proactive approach ensures the continued success of biosecurity initiatives.

**Essential Requirements**
- Tertiary qualifications in **Veterinary**Science, registerable in NSW
- **Current NSW Driver Licence**:

- Adept at using Microsoft Office apps and electronic record keeping
