About the role

THE ROLE
- Part-time hours (0.4 - 0.6 FTE) - negotiable for the right person
- 12-month fixed term contract commencing Aug/Sept 2025, with possible extension

This new position of Fundraising and Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible to the CEO for the planning, delivery and management of engagement strategies that deliver increased financial and in-kind support to Lionheart. Lionheart’s Fundraising Strategy seeks to diversify our sources of funding to achieve financial sustainability, and this newly created position will play a key role in ensuring we meet our fundraising goals. The focus of this role will be to nurture funding relationships and build income from grants, donations and community fundraising.

Success in this role means Lionheart has built meaningful relationships with donors and funders who feel genuinely valued and connected to our organisation, driving their continued support. To be successful in this role you will need to establish a strong understanding of our programs and services. By growing our fundraising activities, you’ll play a key role in strengthening Lionheart’s long-term sustainability and enabling us to continue delivering impactful programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising
- Consolidate the diversification of Lionheart’s income stream as directed by the Board Approved Fundraising Strategy with a particular focus on donations (regular and annual giving campaigns), events and sponsorships
- Grow Lionheart’s individual donor portfolio (regular and major donors) including annual giving campaigns, Wills and Bequests, and Trusts & Foundations
- Work with the wider team to create and implement supporter campaigns and engagement strategies using the CRM, website, social media, and other assets
- Develop internal resources to support the wider organisation in fundraising activities
- Research, identify and cultivate new suitable corporate partners in collaboration with the CEO
- Work together with operational team to help source and secure grants to run core services and new initiatives

Community Engagement
- Increase awareness of Lionheart’s brand and reputation in the community through fundraising initiatives
- Nurture existing supporter relationships, ensuring regular and high-standard communications
- Coordinate the delivery of supporter engagement events and other in-person touch points
- Assist the CEO with the day-to-day management of selected major donor and partnership relationships

Administration
- Be the key contact and organisation leader for data capture and extraction using Supporterhub (marketing & fundraising digital platform), including the generation of regular insights and reports
- Administer sponsor, grant funding and donor income, working with the CEO to reconcile revenue and reporting on actuals to targets
- Prepare reporting and acquittal for funding partners, including keeping accurate records of deliverables and due dates
- Provide regular updates to the CEO/Board on fundraising efforts and results

- Maintain strict confidentiality practices related to the handling of client information
- Embrace Lionheart’s organisational values and ensure they are embedded in communications to all stakeholders
- Stay up to date with trends in fundraising and donor engagement, reporting findings to the CEO
- Undertake any other duties as directed by the CEO/Board
