We're leading Western Australians to their intelligent energy future.
And we want you to be part of it.
You might know us as Western Australia's largest electricity generator and energy retailer, supporting 1.2 million customers across the state.

But what you might not know, is that we're investing in renewable energy projects, including wind farms and big batteries, to help build a more sustainable and reliable future.

Our Big Battery is now live in Kwinana, we're expanding the Warradarge Wind Farm, the WA EV Network has launched, and we have many other projects in the works.

We're a purpose-driven organisation, owned by the people of WA. Our commitment is to ensure all Western Australians have access to secure, reliable, and sustainable energy.

We believe that the benefits of renewable energy aren't just for some, they're for everyone.

This is where you come in.

Role Description
The Communications and Engagement Advisor is a newly created 6-month Max-Term Contract opportunity in our Stakeholder and Community Engagement team based at our Perth Central Park office. This role plays a pivotal part in supporting the successful delivery of Project Jupiter (our distributed energy resources and virtual power plant programs) – a major strategic initiative shaping Western Australia's energy future.

Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, the Communications and Engagement Advisor will develop and deliver high-impact communications and engagement activities that build energy literacy, foster community trust, and enhance Synergy's reputation. The role involves crafting strategic messaging, coordinating industry events and sponsorships, and managing stakeholder insights to inform engagement strategies.

This is a dynamic and collaborative role suited to a communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment, and is passionate about making a meaningful impact through strategic engagement and stakeholder relationships.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver strategic communication materials including corporate communications, FAQs, presentations, and stakeholder updates that support Project Jupiter's objectives and reflect Synergy's 'one voice'.
  • Prepare customer and industry-facing collateral that builds energy literacy and demonstrates Synergy's positive social impact.
  • Coordinate and implement engagement programs, campaigns, and events – including some evening engagements – that promote Project Jupiter's strategic outcomes and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
  • Manage stakeholder feedback and related sponsorships and memberships, using insights to inform engagement strategies and ensure return on investment.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and relationship owners to align messaging, understand project milestones, and ensure consistent and timely communication across all channels.

What You Will Bring

  • A degree in marketing, communications, or a related discipline, along with 3-5 years' experience in stakeholder engagement or marketing communications within a large organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver strategic engagement programs, manage sponsorships and partnerships, and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Commercial acumen and experience managing budgets, with a focus on driving return on investment for engagement activities.
  • Strong influencing, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a changing environment.
  • A natural networker and confident communicator, with the ability to represent Synergy professionally in external forums and build meaningful connections across stakeholder groups.
